Post due Wed 4/8: Coms 2 and Coms 5

Hey hey hey!!!!! It is almost April, summer is coming! Let's get a sunny blog going to help dry out all this rainy gloom! Opinion, strong opinions are important in effective arguments...For this blog, in 2 parts,
1. Tell me one thing you have a super strong opinion about (appropriate topics please).
2. Make a three or four sentance argument for the opposite side of your opinion (as though arguing against yourself).

WHY you ask??? BECAUSE The best way to debate an issue is to understand and gain empathy for the other side you plan to argue against most effectively, believe it or not...try it! Sandra The Blogger, out...

I have a strong opinion about clothes. I believe that everyone should match because it very important to look your best when you go out side but most people don't care. But they should because people begin to talk about you and personally I would be mad if some one talks about me. However, I believe that there is someone for every one.
But I think that it is cooll not to match. I believe that we should be free buy wearing different colors. Also, I don't care what people think of me because they are not going to give me my degree.

I love Summer and sunlight. It makes everything bright and sunny plus it's always nice to go swimming.

Argument:
Summer is a nice season but at the same time it can be very bad; too much sunlight can also be considere very bad because it is dangerous to be outside in the sun for long hours. Problems that have rose from this issue is that with too much sunlight an indiviual outside will get a sunburn which can later in effect let to skin cancer. Also, during the summer there are huge number of cases with hot sprokes and people fainting becuase of the high tempether. As Dr. Howard Murad says with summer, comes more heat, humidity and perspiration. This can easily lead to clogged pores and is common on all skin types - even dry skin. Event though summer lends itself to being a care-free time, it's till important to follow a skincare routine that includes regular, mild exfoliation of surface skin cells (http://www.bellaonline.com/ArticlesP/art10646.asp). In addition to bumpy Skin, there are a number of other skin problems that rises from the summer hot such as Acne, Pigmentation, Oily / Dry / Dull skin, Keratosis Pilari, Redness/ Inflammation and Spider Veins. Therefore, when summer does comes along while having fun, we need to make sure we are protected from the ulter light of the sun that can do much damage to our health. So this summer everyone, put on extra sun block before you go play outside.

I have a strong opinion about adopting your pets. The other side would argue that if they wanted a pure breed puppy for specific purposes such as hunting thats not a dog you can find at the pound. They would argue if you buy from a good breeder that you are likely to get a healthy dog with its papers. The third thing they would argue is you don't know the history of the dog and it could likely go crazy on you when you bring it home.

I strongly believe that the show "24" has seriously declined in quality in recent years. If I were on the opposing side of this issue, I would say things like "The show is better than ever!" or "The show is at its creative peak and totally isn't repeating itself left and right!" or "Yes, killing off Tony and every other character we care about is absolutely a great idea!"

But I would never say these things, for they are dirty communist lies.

I love the snow, I think we should all go visit the snow and make a snow man together =)haha! The snow is so cool because we can all throw snow balls at eachother and go ice skating, yet I hate the snow. It's slippery on the floor, your clothes get wet if a snow ball hits you and the snow is too cold! It melts away and doesn't last very long in the sun. boo!!

I strongly believe that video games should not be to blame for child disobedience. However it is reasonable for one to accuse video games isolating these children. At times children can spend days alone sitting at the computer, but the people that make these allegations dont understand these games. While the child sits at the computer they are really interacting with millions of people, even talking to them through microphones depending on the game. So these games can actually develope good communication skills when you really think about it, and they shouldnt be to blame for child disobedience.

I feel strongly against SUV's. For the most part I feel they are oversized, dangerous, and gas guzzlers. My main reason for my dislike is that in an accident against a smaller vehicle they tend to cause the smaller vehicle more harm than they suffer themselves. The reason I call SUV's dangerous also would not be realized by most people who argue for them, I was rear ended by a "small" SUV which did about $4000 worth of damage to my car. I was told if I'd been driving anything less well built such as a Honda or Toyota I would have no longer had a backseat.

Someone would argue that SUV's are a good family vehicle, they have lots of room which is nice for long trips. Many SUV's can seat between 5 and sometimes almost 10 people which can be great for a roadtrip or large group. With this in mind you can argue that per person usage of gas is actually reduced when a large number of people share the vehicle. As mentioned above most people really wouldn't have much of an arguement against my opinion that SUV's are "dangerous" but they would say that it is an advantage they have a right to possess. This advantage they have a right to is the inherent safety that comes with size, the mass and height of the SUV gives them an advantage in a collision. One last advantage that people argue for regarding the size is the ability to see over other cars, they like the feeling of being so high up.

I hate school. However, going to school and obtaining a degree has many advantages. You learn the necessary information to advance your knowledge. Having an education, is a status symbol that says a lot about you. In most cases, having a degree plays a key role in your economic opportunties with the career you choose. You also get to network and meet cool people, like all of you in my COMS 2 class.

arguement:
If the united states decided to re-instate the draft, I feel that women should be included. Although there are many arguements about why women should not be included in the draft such like women do not have the physical strengths as men do, there are historical evidences proving that women do have the same physical endurances as men. There is also the arguement that women are seen as only mothers, not warriors, but in the past, there had been many women whom were mothers that fought in wars. I believed that women should be included if the draft was re-instated because long ago, women had fought for equality america so it should be given in full to all.

i have a super strong opinion that everyone should get into a extra curricular activity. something to do besides go home watch tv, or play video games. im not saying you cant waych tv or play them, but do something else more often than that. the only reason i can see that you wouldnt want to do something other than watch tv or play games is you are unable to do so. i cant see another reason not to what to go to the gym for example. or get a job, join a club. there is always new and exciting things to do in this world.

I am really opposed to leaf blowers because they are loud and obnoxious. However, many would say that leaf blowers are extremely time efficient as opposed to raking leaves. Leaf blowers also do an excellent job of removing much more debris than a rake. Leaf blowers wouldn't be that bad if there was a designated time in neighborhoods when they could be used....like when no one is home.

I have a strong beleif in sports entertainment, aka pro wrestling. Although it's fake it's fun to watch. The argument would be, why would anyone want to watch a bunch of guys The real glory is in football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, and even real wrestling.

Fast food is nasty.

I have a strong opinion that people, especially in America, should not eat fast food. It's unhealthy and it should be the number one drug in America that kills people. The opposite side of my opinion is that fast food is not very unhealthy if you exersise. There are people who are quiting the fast foods and going on more diets. Also, fast foods are usually not eaten often in these days and are great for those times where you are SUPER busy and need to get a quick bite. And it's cheep, so fast food is not all bad.

I have a really strong opinion that people should not get abortions. Even though I do not believe in this practice, I do know of the reasons why some women receive abortions. I think some reasons why most women get an abortion is because 1) the pregnancy is unexpected 2) the woman is either too young or too old 3) the woman was raped 4) a family member or loved one convinces the woman that an abortion is the right decision 5) afraid of the idea of having a child 6) the mother would not be able to provide for the child financially 7) don't want to mess up their bodies 8) they can do whatever they want to do with their bodies and 9) the mother to be feels like she is not ready for the responsibilities and parenting that comes along with motherhood.

I have the strong opinion that people should not have sex outside of marriage; however I am aware that others do not share this belief. A few reasons that the opposing side give are that we should be able to be intimate with people that we care deeply about or are physically attracted to. Also, it is our right to do whatever we want (barring the illegal) and if we want to have sex with someone, we should be able to do so. Also some people feel that they need to find out whether or not they are compatible with someone before they get married.

I have a really strong opinion when it comes to teachers that can not teach well. I feel strongly about this because students pay so much for their college tuition, so therefore students should recieve professors that know how to teach and which they are satisfied with.

Argument
Although I do understand that when it comes to learning it is not always the professors fault.
At times the students chose not to learn and blames it on the professor, when they get their test results or grades. Also some students do not show up to class, but yet expect to understand all the class materials and get good grades. Other students don't do the class readings or their homework, which enables them to understand the class lectures.

I believe strongly in being indecisive. My zodiac sign being a Taurus I'm naturally indecisive. I think being indecisive is a strength rather than a weakness because I take all points of view in to consideration. I'm so understanding and open minded that the outcome results in me being indecisive.

Argument: Strong beliefs in matters are important because they determine ones character. If you are firm on your opinion than people will be more respectful of you because they see the passion you have and thus you can persuade them. Some crucial matters in life you should indefinetly know where you stand on the issue.

I have a strong opinion about how people dont see you for who you are inside but who you are on the outside. I think it's a bad thing because they dont know your inner beauty just as well as your outer. people think just because you are cute on the outside doesn't mean your cute on the inside. Also if your ugly on the outside doesn't mean that your are ugly on the inside. It could be a good thing too because some people just have ugly personalities and that can ruin the whole thing.

I looove BIG, s.e.x.y, ~unique~ heels! They turn any boring outfit sassy, make your legs look sleek and thin, and also add color, funkiness, and personality to your day/night!
Most people think tall heels are NUTS! For one, they don't suit the majority of the population. There are too many people who are not coordinated enough to wear them that still try and thus give the graceful ones a bad rap. So for all those chicks that do happen to take the accidental plunge to the ground- it's a far fall and your ankles will most likely suffer from your awkwardness. Second, sassy and fiesty heels are often tacky. Why would you want to ruin a classy, sophisticated look with an outrageous pair of heels??? Last, but not least, playful shoes like these are not practical purchases as they do not go with most outfits in your closet. why would you waste your money on a pair of shoes you may only wear one or two times? That's just so unreasonable....even if they are absolutely fabulous!!!!!! :-)

I love spring season because its not so hot and its the season where everything is growing. I especially love the wild flowers that are blooming right now dispite all the glooming rain.

Although, in my opinion, spring is the perfect season there is a bad side to the season. First is allergy. The days are so perfect and beautiful, but the allergy just kills me. Second is all the natural disaster. Although new life is being born, all those melting snow plus all those extra rain are causing mud slides, and leeve and dam breaks. Third is that it goes by so fast. Just when I am about to really enjoy it, it is gone and those hot summer days arrive.

I have a strong opinion that people should continue school and get a higher education because it will help them get better careers and bigger incomes in many cases. An argument to this is that sometimes people believe they cannot afford college and they could go right to work after high school and start to get an income. Also, some people think they can get their careers started right away and do not need to go to college. Another case could be some people may not feel they have time to go to college because they may have a fmaily they have to support and need to work to pay all the bills. So college may not be for everyone.

Gay marriage should be legalized in every state in the United States. Some who oppose this law have many arguments most of them being mediocre and some valid ones. Yet, marriage is a main goal in conceiving kids, gay couples can’t conceive kids without the help of science, the opposite sex, or the adoption process. A gay couple is also not capable of raising kids as it is an unfit environment not seen as “normal” by society. These kids would have to endure through ridcule, harrasment, and questions about an issue that is not easy explicable to children yet. Gay marriage would be a case of special laws as it is one group of people that want to get married. Nobody has special rights to get married only a man and a woman can get married, if you’re not a man or a woman and your not marrying the opposite sex then you don’t have a special right to get married. Therefore, gay marriage should not be legalized it would only open up the doors to other special cases that may also be morally wrong. If gay marriage is legalized then it would have to be taught in public schools as a moral equivalent of a traditional marriage, and gay marriage is not traditional and therefore very far from being morally correct.

i have a strong opinion concerning the use of performane enhancing drugs/supplements in proffessional sports. i believe that they should not be taken and should be banned from every sport altogether. However, from the athletes point of view it is just their way to make themselves the best athlete they can be and also helps to take away some of the pressure to perform and be at their best when it is not always easy. with all the media and public eye on these athletes all the time it is understandable why they mite resort to this.

I cant wait till the sun comes out. I thought this was California. I did not come here from Detroit to deal with the rain and cold season. I came here to get away froma all that and enjoy the sunshine, and its all most here.

I am against people who continue to judge others upon race, dress, and any and all types of ways one can judge another when they do not even now know you.

Judgeing someone before you meet them is the best way to go because it is easy to tell how someone is by the way they cary themselves. People that were baggy clothers always seem to be trouble, people who talk ebonix are uneducated, and all people within each race act the same way. Judgeing someone is the best way to go because it is a way of weeding through the good and the bad quicker.

1. One thing I have a strong opinion is about individualism. I believe all people have a personality that diffreiates them from their neighbor. We all should have the freedom to express who we are in the ways that we desire up into
the point of not offending anyone.

2. For some conformity is desirable as is conventionalism. Since things have been done this way they shall continue to be done this way. This holds out less disturbance and a more flow of alliance. People shouldn't stand out of the ordinary too much because they may offend someone if they do.

I really think it is important to vote. One persons vote can change the way rules and regulations are brought about.

For some, voting is the most important thing a peson can do to feel independence and feel they have a voice. Voting isn't all that important because if I don't vote someone will and that in the long run will form the final decision. It doesn't matter if everybody votes because sometime the issues aren't important and don't pertain to me necesarilly. I don't vote because it is a waste of time and it doesn't pay.

I am a complete summer boy and with the summer usually comes a lesser amount of rain. I am very very sick of this rain.
A good thing about the rain, though, is there is a good chance that there will be no drought for a while. I remember when I was little and hearing year after year the problems California was having with the drought. Also, once the rain starts to die down for the season, most of us will appreciate the warmer, sunnier weather and hopefully seize the outdoor day a bit. The rain also has to be good for a majority of farmers throughout the Central Valley as well as those of us who enjoy eating quality vegetables. Rain also puts me in a relaxed 'sit by the fireplace and enjoy hot chocolate and watch sitcom reruns' mood which is very enjoyable assuming I have some freetime.. which unfortunately isnt the case. haha.

I love computer, well what we can do with them. We can do home work, chat, listen to music, and even shop online. But it seems that computers and the internet have made people socially disable.
