YOU MADE IT!!!!!

I am so proud of you for sticking with such a tough class--You all deserve a nice holiday break! Remember, you are not going shopping this season, you are "boosting the economic downturn" or "supporting recession recovery tactics"--
For this final blog, and please do keep in touch--I'd like to hear about one suggestion you can share with your classmates to help find the true spirit of giving, sharing and gratitude...for instance, something you or someone you admire does this time of year to get past the Halmark/mall/consumer-driven experience and reach out when it means the most to lend a hand, an ear or even a few bucks. I hope what you have learned in my class will help you speak out with confidence and stand up for others who can't speak for themselves and above all: Express yourself! Hugs--Sandra

True story,
About 50% of my tips last thursday went towards buying drinks for random people that came into the cafe (It's A Grind: Bruceville & Elk Grove Blvd...NO ONES VISITED ME YET!).

My suggestion for spreading "cheer" and giving/sharing, is to buy little things for people where you can; coffee shops, gas stations, bookstores, etc. It'll make someones day, and help you get rid of change ;)

I'm never really into the holiday season, but this year I'll try and get into the Christmas spirit. My advice? Just spend time with those you care about. Don't worry about getting or giving expensive gifts because it's usually the small gifts, that comes from the heart, that puts the biggest smiles on a loved ones face. Corny I know, but it's true!

Bake goods. I love it when my clients give me a tin with homemade fudge and cookies! They took time in making them and so you know they care or were thinking about you.

Making home made candy! My friends family do it and mine and then we exchange our goods. I also like to help out in way I can. I give money to people. I buy gifts for toys for tots all the good stuff. Its the time for sharing!

I think Kate, Christophizzle, teenizzle, Susan, and Jenny offers pretty useful suggestions for all of us to consider when it comes to sharing our appreciation for the Holiday season.

I usually share my holiday spirit by making phone calls, especially on New Year Eve contacting all my relatives making sure they know I am thinking about each of them. I think a simple phone call or a homemade card expresses heart-warming feelings for loved ones and friends. And we as a class thank Sandra for giving us the skills to argue and debate for what we truly believe in.

It's been hard for me so far to get into the holiday spirit since I started my new job a little while ago. Hopefully once I find the time to start to decorate my apartment and get a little tree I will feel more "chritmasy". I've always loved christmas because it makes me feel very family oriented and all I want to do is be with my family! It's kind of a tradition that, even though my parents aren't together anymore, we all get together and as a family make christmas morning breakfast and have mamosas!
I hope that everyone has a fantabulouse Christmas!!!!

The true spirit of giving depends on your attitude and the reason why you are giving. This is something that can be shown through out the year not just during the holidays!
Listening to someone or something as simple as a nice letter will show the meaning of giving and that it's not about re-gifting or receiving.
