DEBATE TIME!!!!!

This is it--the big week for full-on, hard-core, graded debates--r u ready? Let's talk about style--which will you adopt--a hard-hitting agressive stance, the funny-yet-lethal -position, the "innocent objector" or even the detached debater-just-there-for your passing-grade style? Whatever style you favor, describe why you think it is effective, how you'll win over the audience and finally: what your fun plans are for Thanksgiving break? Also let me know how you felt watching me get "observed"last week? How did I do? What was my style choice? Did it work? --be gentle, I'm sensitive! LOL--Sandra

I think being a innocent objective would help my presentation tomorrow. I think that it will best represent my friendly appearance for what could be a passionate debate. My debate tactics will demonstrate a innocent image for all young drivers.

I hope to finish up all homework for school, so the only thing I'll need to worry about is how to avoid having my cranberry sauce touching my smashed potatoes. And hopefully volunteer work at the zoo.

Professor wheeler was great teaching us in class when our special visitor sat in. You appeared to combine a style of hard-hitting and funny-yet-lethal approach. By the end of the class, I bet your observer was thinking "Professor Sandra Wheeler, Ed.D" (Doctor of Education) Your style was successful.

I think my kind of style is the informative straight to the point with slight nervousness. I hope to come across as informative hopefully being able to win the classes votes. I do get nervous and tend to just throw off facts without much explanation, hopefully that doenst happen tomorrow.

I plan to stay home for thanksgiving and spend time with my family from the bay area. Next, i want to get as much rest as possible for "BLACK FRIDAY" shopping..yeahh....

I was to nervous when the lady came by to observe Sandra. I wanted to be on my best behavior showing her that you have good studnets and can keep us under control.hahaha..but overall Sandra, you did a very good job. Slight nervousness was kind of obvious, but it wasnt bad...=o)

I feel that during the debate my style was a bit agressive...I was surprised at how nervous I actually was...I'm not even sure why I was so nervous maybe because we were the first group to go...I always ten to be a bit agressive in real life argements..so maybe that carries over in my debate style..Anyway I am really exieted for thanksgiving...me and a bunch of my family are going to my Grandma's house in Clearlake...I haven't been there in years and my kids have never been there at all ever...so we are looking forward to it..I didn't even realized you were being observed..Was I in class that day??I think so..I never miss your class...

My style usually starts out gracious and gentle, but when the opposition starts talking, I just wanna jump in and clash! So i think my overall style is progressive, meaning I start out simple and informative then progress to agressive and clash-happy. I think it's effective, because it reacts to all types of opponents. It's suited well for debate also, because you never know when a curve ball is coming, and you have to adjust.

Thanksgiving plans:
FOOTBALL!!!!!! Thanksgiving is up here this year, and all the cousins gathered can only mean one thing: high powered competition fueled by testosterone. Mm, lovely.

Observation:
You style was and is and always will be a student first approach, and it's awesome. You seem to do whatever you need to, bust jokes, be serious, lecture, etc. to get the material across. You didn't seem to deviate from that last wednesday, so that was cool, and I also caught the lady nodding and even laughing as your style even appealed to her. Gj!

1)STYLE: WELL SINCE IM POSTING THE BLOG AFTER MY DEBATE, I INITIALLY DID NOT KNOW WHAT STYLE I WAS GOING TO USE. I ENDED UP USING THE INNOCENT OBJECTOR STYLE, AND I LOST.:) I ALSO PLAYED THE JUST-THERE-FOR-MY-PASSING-GRADE-STYLE. I WANTED TO MAKE SURE I COVERED ALL THE CONTENTIONS AND THAT I USED TERMS. MY STYLE OBVIOUSLY DID NOT HELP ME TO WIN, BUT HEY SOMEBODY HAS TO LOSE HAHA!

2) THANKGIVING IS GOING TO BE WIERD THIS YEAR. MY PARENTS ARE NEWLY SEPERATED, SO IM NOT SURE WHERE I WILL BE SPENDING THE HOLIDAY(S). EITHER WAY ILL BE SOMEWHERE EATING LOL

3)I THINK THAT YOU DID WELL DURING YOUR OBSERVATION. I COULDNT EVEN TELL THAT YOU WERE BEING OBSERVED UNTIL YOU SAID SOMETHING

aggressive but within reason you have to no your opponent and it should used when appropriate.
to aggressive and you could come off as a BIG FAT BUTT HOLE....
i was a little aggressive but more so sarcastic then anything.

I think that aggressiveness is key when trying to win over an audience. You need to show them that your passionate about what your talking about. I think that I may have been a bit too aggressive, but i tend to be a very competitive person with everything.
My plans for thanksgiving is to work, have a nice relaxed low key dinner in Napa, and then go back to work!!Yay!!
